Why aren't YakBot's functions working properly?
Make sure your YakBot is turned to the 'ON' mode (right most position) and not 'TRY ME' (left most position). If that doesn't fix the issue, try changing the batteries.
How does the record function work on YakBot?
Hold down YakBot's left button for 2 seconds and then let go. Wait for the 'beep' tone to finish then start talking into the microphone (located under YakBot's mouth).
Why isn't YakBot recording my whole message?
YakBot will record up to 10 seconds of sound when the record feature is activated. Make sure you only start speaking after you hear the 'beep' tone and that there are no significant pauses in your recording (YakBot will think this is the end of your message and begin playback).
Also make sure you speak as close to the microphone as possible when recording and that you are in a quiet area with no loud background noise.
How does the filter function work on YakBot?
YakBot must have a previous recording in his memory in order to select a filter.
To toggle through YakBot's various filters press the right button. If YakBot is saying his own phrases when you press the right button, that means there is no recording in his memory and you will need to record your own message before you can use the filter function. The order of the filters as you toggle through are Pitch Shift, Robot, Echo and Reverse.
To return your recorded message back to your normal voice, toggle through the voice filter selection (by pressing the right button) until you reach the pitch shift filter. Then turn the dial on top of YakBot's head so that the arrow points forward / in the middle of YakBot's visor.
How does the warp function work on YakBot?
Once you've recorded your message, turn the warp dial on top of YakBot's head to change the type of warp. To return your recorded message back to your normal voice, turn the dial on top of YakBot's head so that the arrow points forward / in the middle of YakBot's visor.
How does the Answer Man function work on YakBot?
To activate Answer Man mode on YakBot, hold down the right button for 2 seconds and then let go - YakBot will prompt you to ask a question. Start your question after the prompt.
To get the most out of this feature, only ask YakBot Yes/No questions. YakBot may not always know the answer to your questions - he may say something cheeky to make you laugh!
What batteries does YakBot use?
YakBot uses 2 x AAA (LRO3) batteries. Under normal play conditions (as indicated in the Instruction Manual), YakBot can last up to 12 hours before you need to replace his batteries!
